It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved mother, Winifred Cecilia (Foley) Mann, 96, of Pepperell, Mass. She left us peacefully on February 12, 2025 surrounded by her children. A loving Wife, Mother, Nana, Nana-Nan, Mom, Mumma, Mum, Aunt, Sister, Sister-in-law, she will always be remembered by her strong faith in God.
Our mother worked at Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge, Mass. in the 50s and 60s. She loved her job with pictures and had on occasion worked with Dr. Land and Ansel Adams. She was gifted in her ability to work with pictures and slides. Our mother was humble in acknowledging the honor of her work.
She was born on May 29, 1928 in Dorchester, Mass. Winifred (Winnie) was the youngest Foley child. The daughter of Patrick and Winifred Foley, she had two sisters, Mary and Hannah, and three brothers – John, Jim and Henry.
On September 13, 1947, our mother married the love of her life for 48 years, Harold “Harry” Mann, Jr. The two met and had their first date at Tenean Beach in Dorchester. They had four children: Harold Mann & wife JoAnn, Patricia Tarasovic and husband Nicholas, Susan Hatfield and husband Rick, and Mary Beth Greathead and husband Bill (deceased). She was predeceased by her husband, Harold.
Together, they had eleven grandchildren, Allen Tarasovic, Debbie Caron, Kathleen Sevelowitz, Ricky Hatfield, Allison Martin, Christopher Greathead, Nicholas Tarasovic, Brian, Evan and Tyler Greathead, and Jennifer Nover; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Winnie is also survived by brother-in-law John Mann (Margaret) and sister-in-law Beverly Mann, as well as many nieces and nephews who have many fond memories of Aunt Winnie.
We would like to thank the Staff at Northwood for caring and loving our mother for 3 years.
