Roger Charles Greengo

Roger Charles Greengo passed away unexpectedly on 6 April 2024 at the age of 86, at his home in Pepperell, Massachusetts.  Born on October 27^th 1937, in St Paul, MN. Roger was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Roger is survived by his daughters, Liane (Greengo) Davies of Swansea South Wales, Denise (Christensen) Donoghue of Pepperell, MA, Tina (Christensen) Whitcomb of Pepperell, MA, Katherine Christensen of Garland, ME, sons Steven Greengo of Bournemouth, England and Michael Greengo of Wilson, NC and his older sister Patricia (Greengo) Larkin of Rochester, MN.  He is also survived by his son-in-laws Mark Donoghue, Alan Whitcomb, Andrew Davies, daughter-in-law Linda (Wing) Greengo as well as 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Roger was preceded in death by his first wife Janice (Morgan) Greengo, second wife Shirley (McDougall) Greengo, his younger sister Kathleen Greengo as well as his parents Charles Greengo and Lucille (Hendrickson) Greengo.

Roger enlisted in the Army right out of high school and spent 20 years in the service. Much of which was spent overseas and included a 12 month tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was responsible for communications between many US and South Vietnamese Fire Bases and was a Bronze Star recipient. Roger retired from the service after 20 years at the highest possible non-commissioned rank of Chief Warrant Officer Second Class.  Soon after retirement Roger started his second 20 year career as a truck driver with his second wife Shirley driving tractor trailer coast to coast.

After retiring from work at the age of 59, Roger was able to spend quality time with family and friends doing the things he loved like spending time outdoors, antiquing on Sunday mornings and was an accomplished artist with charcoal and pencil. He particularly enjoyed being a member of the Granite Statesmen Barber Shop Chorus since he was a bit of a showman and was always quick with a joke or some way to make you laugh.  Roger was known to be a very loving, kind, honest and loyal person with an easy-going nature.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a graveside service at Pepperell Cemetery, Park Street, Pepperell at 11 am on Wednesday April 17, 2024.

Roger Greengo will be dearly missed by his sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.  His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
