Robert Thomas Breen

Robert Thomas Breen, 88, of Pepperell, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2021 in Ayer, MA after a short illness.

Born in East Walpole, MA, he moved to Pepperell with his family. He was a graduate of Pepperell High School where he excelled in basketball. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy (Scott) Breen, in October of 1949 and started his family. With the help of his father and a brother-in-law, they built the house that he lived in for the rest of his life. He was a long-time employee with the Sears, Roebuck Company in Leominster. He was a devoted father with a kind and gentle heart and always provided well for his family. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play in the pool that he meticulously maintained. He enjoyed family gatherings and was always the great host. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Nancy. Together, they visited Canada, Ireland, Europe, Russia and much of the United States. They also spent many a winter in the Florida Keys. A man of few words but he spoke from the heart. He was always happy when working with his backhoe.

He was the son of Thomas J. Breen of Pepperell and Gertrude (Batchelder) Breen of Mason, NH. He is preceded in death by sister Mary (Breen) McGranaghan of Manchester, NH. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Scott) Breen and a sister, Francis (Tootie Breen) Potter. He had 5 children: R. Dennis Breen and wife Terri of Groton; Thomas G. Breen and wife Donna of Coral Springs, FL; Linda K. (Breen) Cormier and husband Jerry of Pepperell; Diane C. (Breen) Lindsey and husband Cliff of Carlisle, PA; Timothy J. Breen and friend Marie of Pepperell.

He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren: Jeffrey Breen of Pepperell; Kimberly (Breen) Agonis of New Ipswich, NH; Christine (Tadiello) Alward of Nashua, NH; Cheryl Tadiello of Pepperell, MA; Carrie (Breen) Fuller of Delray, FL; Jonathan Breen of Coral Springs, FL; Jessica Cormier of Pepperell; Christopher Cormier of McKinney, TX; Rebecca (Cormier) Smith of Sutton, MA; Kyle Lindsey of Carlisle, PA; Jessica Lindsey; Ashley (Breen) Camuti of Southbridge, MA; Sarah Breen of Millbury, MA; and the great-grandfather of 16: Jamie Breen, Danny Breen, Shannon Agonis, Sean Agonis, Devin Alward, Trevor Alward, Kyra Tadiello, Isaac Breen, Julian Leon, Nora Leon, Abby Smith, Connor Smith, Mallory Cormier, Madelyn Cormier, Gabby Lindsey, Adalyn Camuti.
