Richard E. Chalmers Sr.

Richard E Chalmers Sr.  87, A  lifetime resident of Groton, Ma passed away peacefully in his  sleep and is now in heaven with his wife Carol  of 62 years of marriage. He leaves 3 children; a son Richard Jr. and wife Gail, daughter Martha and fiancé Glenn and daughter Lisa, 3 grandchildren Nicole and husband Jacob, Andrew and wife Lisa and grandson Nathan, 4 great-grandchildren Gabriel, Thomas , Allison , Amelia. He was the late son of John and Martha Chalmers and Older Brother of the late Ralph (Buckshot) and Jane Chalmers. He worked most of his life for the town of Groton highway Dept. and retired 30 years deputy chief of W. Groton Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Army tank division in Germany. He enjoyed traveling, Eastern draft horse pulls and his family.  A private graveside service will be held, visiting Hrs. omitted.
