Richard H. Blase

Richard H. Blase of Pepperell, MA died at the age of 87 on January 8, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born on April 24th, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts. He is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Dorothy Blase, and his sister Glenna and her husband Ron Riley.

Richard worked multiple jobs including special police officer for the Town of Pepperell, restaurant manager, and as swimming pool and pool table contractor. He was known for his dedication and hard work.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Blase, and his two children, Richard Blase and his wife Sheila, and Robert Blase and his wife Cheryl. He also has a stepson, Scott Hartley and his wife Deborah. He had four grandchildren, Joshua Blase and his wife Miranda, Heather Blase and her wife Justine, Rachel (Forbes) and her husband Matt, and Eric Blase. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Surviving family members include two sisters, Jane and her spouse Charles Edwards and Margaret Whitney and her significant other, Frank Ciafilla.

He enjoyed his Koi fish and pond and his cat (Miss Kitty). He loved traveling to Bermuda and having summer reunion parties annually. He was the past Grand Regent of the Royal Arcanum and vice president of the Koi Club.

Family and friends may gather in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Saturday, February 1st beginning at 11 am followed by a memorial service at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pepperell.
