DUNSTABLE – Peter John Georges, a longtime resident of Dunstable, MA, passed away peacefully, Sunday July 18, 2021, at Fairhaven Healthcare Center, Lowell, MA.

He was born in Lowell on December 17, 1933, son of the late John A. Georges and the late Rose (Marchacos) Georges. Peter attended Lowell Public Schools, Tilton Academy & graduated from Norwich University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and his Regular Army Commission in Artillery. He went on to enlist in the Army, where he earned the rank of Major.

Peter met and married the late Nona E. (Burrows) Georges, on September 22, 1956, and proudly raised their family in Dunstable, MA.

He was a devoted husband, father and friend to many. No one who met Peter forgot his infectious passion for non-work activities: flea marketing, Saturday dump runs, collecting Army memorabilia, repairing old watches, gambling, putting around the yard and passing out personalized pens to everyone he crossed paths with.

Peter’s passion for helping others, was above all. This is what lead him to his career of selling insurance and real estate, where he became an honorary life member of the Greater Lowell Board of Realtors. It was Peter’s honor to serve as the Veterans Service Officer for many years in addition to serving on various town boards.

He is survived by his sons, Stephen Georges and his wife, Bernadette and Scott Georges and his husband, Todd Sunderland; two daughters, Cindy Black and her husband Robert, and Rose Georges; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Georges; ten grandchildren, Stephen and Ashley Black, Shelby and her husband Bill Morris, Peter, Jennifer, Nicole, Zachary, and Sarah Georges, John and Nona Hunt; two great-grandchildren, Will and Reagan Morris and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peter was the father of the late John "Jack" Georges.

GEORGES - Peter John, a longtime Dunstable resident. July 18, 2021. Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Wednesday, July 28 from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. A graveside service will be held at Central Cemetery, Westford St., Dunstable on Thursday, July 29 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New England Center and Home for Veterans:
