Nandee Willets of Pepperell, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital surrounded by family and friends at the age 70. She was born in Marlborough, MA, raised in Groton, MA and in 1976 purchased her home in Pepperell where she lived until her passing. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ronald R. Mann. Ron and Nandee have shared a life together for over 42 years and married for the past 5 years. Daughter of the late Morris L. Willets Jr., born in Flushings Long Island, NY, and the late Leonie M. (Hugonnet) Willets, born in New York, NY. Sister of the late Carol L. Willets, born in Marlborough, MA.
Nandee graduated from Groton High School in 1971 and went on to continue her passion, horses. She owned and operated Rivers Edge Farm in Pepperell, an equestrian farmstead educating individuals both young and old in all levels of her beloved passion. Active in local 4-H and attending its annual shows, entering the actively learning junior participants of her farm which numerous ribbons and awards were granted to her riders. Her saying was “helping horses…teaching riders”.
Nandee will be remembered for not only her love horses but her love for all animals. Care and treatment of animals were especially important to her, being a member of horse rescue programs throughout New England taking in all types of animals needing a new home for care and love. She made lifelong friendships through her animals, making a lasting impact on most people she met.
Nandee leaves behind her siblings, sister Cory Haigh Phillips Willets of OBrien, FL, sister Wendy Licciardello of Hamilton Township, NJ, brother Charlie Willets of Pepperell, MA and Jay Willets of Cotuit, MA. In addition to her brothers and sisters Nandee leaves her mother in-law Alice Mann of Hollis, NH.
There are no services planned at this time. A memorial gathering to celebrate Nandee’s Life will be held at a later date.
