Michael T. Coffey of Pepperell, MA passed away on November 10th, 2019 at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer. He left us peacefully in his home with the people he loved. Originally from Springfield MA, Michael moved to Pepperell 36 years ago while working as a Bank Examiner in Boston. He became involved in the town and community though the years and enjoyed his steady post as one of the Town Assessors. He was a long-time antique dealer that enjoyed the business as much as the people and friends he made throughout the years. Always the first to arrive, he was a constant presence at the Milford and Hollis shows. He had a few shop locations where he could be found, but most recently in my old horse barn, where he was happy to spend the day with his friends. Occasionally selling something too. He was a strong man with a soft spot for his family, friends, and especially his grandson that he was so proud of.
Michael is leaving behind his wife Annette (Jeffery) Coffey, of 41 years who has earned her sainthood in this life, a loving daughter Michelle Coffey, a son in law Tino Currao, and a grandson Mason Currao that he so dearly loved. Mike leaves behind lots of friends that were so wonderful to him and my family in so many ways. We can’t begin to thank you all for your acts of kindness and generosity through my Father’s illness. We will forever be grateful to you all.
At the wishes of my Father upon his death, he was gifted to Harvard University for hopes of helping to find a cure for cancer. There will not be any services at this time, only a private family celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s name can be made to the Pepperell Historical Commission, whom my father supported and help grow by collecting for over the years. Papa will be greatly missed, always remembered, and never forgotten.
