Mary H. (Monahan) Dow passed away unexpectedly at Lowell General Hospital on March 24, 2018. Mary was born in Waltham on October 8, 1942, the daughter of the late William T. and Mary (Major) Monahan. She spent her early life in the Watertown/Belmont areas and later relocated to the Lowell/Tyngsboro area. Mary settled in the town of Dunstable where she, her husband, and family have resided for the past 50 years.
Mary had been a home daycare provider in Dunstable for many years, having cared for a countless number of children in the area. She took great joy in her work, and truly exemplified the attributes of care, patience, and above all, warmth. Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, John E. Dow, her daughter Deborah “Debbie” Carlson, and her son John E. “Jack” Dow - all of Dunstable and a brother William "Billy" T. Monahan of Watertown . Mary is also survived by three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her brother, David Monahan.
