Martha Rhetta (MacMillan) Rettberg

Shirley, MA - Martha Rettberg (Macmillan), 80, died Friday, August 16, 2019 after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Rettberg is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Richard;  her daughter Sharon Tardie, husband Michael and their 2 sons Brett and Seth; her daughter Donna Beck, husband Gary and their daughter Emily. She is also survived by her beloved sister Dorothy Gray and brother Donald Macmillan, his wife Trudy.

She was predeceased by her brothers John, William, James, Allen and sisters Ruth, Marion, Marie and Elaine.

Martha had a great sense of humor and the gift of gab. She was friendly and outgoing and struck up conversations wherever she went.  She found great joy in shopping for and choosing gifts for everyone around her. She loved to read and peruse cook books, clipping and collecting many a recipe, always with good intentions to actually make, not often created.  She spent her summers on the North Shore on Robbins Island where she enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main Street, Pepperell, MA on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at from 11 AM - 1 PM, with services immediately following at 1PM. Interment will follow at Village Cemetery, Shirley.
