Linda A (Rivard) Stakun November 15, 2015 passed away with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 9, 1951 in Rutland, Vermont daughter of Joseph and Rita (Harvey) Rivard of Leominster, MA. She graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School in 1969 and later in life went on to receive her Bachelor's degree from Lesley College, followed by her Master's degree from Antioch New England in 1997.
She had a great passion for her work as a therapist with mentally ill clients for the last 18 years. It was a source of great joy to her. One of her greatest accomplishments is the trust and love gained by many wonderful people in her life. She was licensed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and was a member of AMHCA, NAADAC, DBRT and NHHCA. Linda enjoyed many hobbies including crafts in which she used to own her own small business, Sew Fine Collectibles. Gardening with a particular passion for flowers. She also enjoyed bike riding, swimming and kayaking. She was a Girl Scout cookie mother for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband Stephen Paul Stakun whom she was married to for 43 years. Daughter Melissa Mason of Pelham , son Joshua Stakun and his wife Tara and two grandsons, Benjamin and Lucas of Pepperell. She is also survived by her parents and two brothers, Robert of Hubbardston, MA and John Rivard of Clearwater,Fl.
Linda was happiest when she was spending time at the ocean or in one of her perennial gardens. She will be missed by many family, friends and clients.
