Leah Marie (Ricket) Riseman

Leah Marie (Ricket) Riseman, of Brookline, NH, entered into rest on March 4, 2025 at the age of 54. A beloved and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Leah is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Dennis Riseman; her beautiful children, Hannah, Abigail, and Sarah; and her precious dog, Indi, all of Brookline, NH. She is also survived by her father William James (Jim) Ricket of Simpsonville, SC; her brother, Timothy Ricket, and his wife, Cheryl, of Charlotte, NC; her brother, Brent Ricket, and his wife, Lauren, of Meridian, ID; her mother-in-law, Patricia J. Riseman of Wayland, MA; and her brother-in-law, Seth Riseman, and his husband, Ivan Espinoza-Madrigal, of Boston, MA. Leah was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Gertrude (Boehme) Ricket, and her father-in-law, Paul R. Riseman.

Leah was born on August 5, 1970, to Jim and Barbara Ricket in Pontiac, MI. She was raised in Mauldin, SC, with her older brothers, Timothy and Brent, and graduated with the Class of ’88 from Mauldin High School. From a young age, Leah loved children and helped her mother run an in-home childcare business throughout her teens.

True to her adventurous spirit, Leah moved to the Boston area as a nanny at age 19. She later entered college at Framingham State University as a Christa Corrigan McAuliffe Scholar and subsequently graduated summa cum laude in 1995. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration from Northeastern University in 1997. She went on to work in marketing and data analytics, where she was a valued colleague and a stellar analyst.

In her final year at Northeastern, Leah met the love of her life, Dennis Riseman, at a mutual friend’s wedding, and their romance blossomed. From the beginning, Leah captured the hearts of the Riseman family. Leah and Dennis were married, surrounded by friends and family, on October 18, 1998. Together, they made their home in Brookline, NH, where they raised their three daughters, Hannah, Abigail, and Sarah.

Being a mother was Leah’s greatest pride and joy. She ensured that their home was always filled with warmth and light, shaped by her vibrant imagination, playful nature, kindness, love for learning, and commitment to a better future. As a stay-at-home mom, she raised her daughters to be strong and capable women, just like her. Leah loved puzzles and reading, cherished collecting leather-bound classics, and belonged to book groups. She was always quick to support friends and neighbors and went out of her way to uphold the causes she believed in. Leah was the most loving, kind, and nurturing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. All who knew her were blessed to have had her in their lives.
