Joseph Richard Kurland

Joseph “Joe” Richard Kurland, of Townsend, Massachusetts, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the age of 39, from a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was raised in Townsend, Massachusetts and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Assumption College and a Master’s Degree from Fitchburg State University. He was last employed as a Rehabilitation Counselor at the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.

Joe was a professional musician and composer and ran his own record distribution company. He held a deep passion for music, films, documentaries, sports, bodybuilding, science, and philosophy. Joe’s creativity and imagination was only surpassed by his love and generosity to his family and friends.

Joe leaves behind his beloved fiancé Kimberly Roun and her three daughters, Arlee, Layla, and Maleah; his parents, Dr. Stephen Kurland and Gail Kurland of Townsend; his eldest sister Lisa Gennari, spouse Jim, of Sudbury; his eldest brother Jason Kurland, spouse Rebecca, of Tolland, CT; his younger brother Adam Kurland, spouse Jacqueline, of Townsend; his younger sister Rachel Kurland, partner Luke, of Tyngsborough; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Sunday, December 19th from 4 – 8 p.m. Facial coverings required. Funeral services will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St., Nashua, NH on Monday, December 20th at 10 a.m. for family members only and a private celebration of life will follow.
