Joseph Francis Caulfield passed away on January 25, 2024 at his home in Chelmsford. He was the beloved husband of Lillian M. (Willis) Caulfield. Joseph was born in Rochester, NH on January 4, 1930, son of the late John H. and Lilian M. (Ruel) Caulfield and brother of the late John H. Caulfield.
Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph F. Caulfield (Susan) of Harwich, Lynne A. (Caulfield) Shaw (Joseph) of Pepperell, Karen M. Caulfield and Mike Sanaito of Bedford, MA, Mary (Caulfield) Evancavich (Andrew) of St. Petersburg, and seven grandchildren.
Joe attended schools in Claremont, NH and Hull, MA before graduating from Hingham High. Joe enjoyed his early years in Hull swimming, working at Paragon Park, and spending time at the family cottage. He attended the Massachusetts Radio and Telegraph School and Lowell Technology. He was a holder of a Master Technician license.
Joe served in the Navy during the Korean War as an Aviation Electronic Technician (8 years). He was employed at MIT, RCA, Trump Ross, Datametrics, and Sipex, before retiring. He enjoyed many years with family on Cape Cod, in Eastham.
Joe volunteered for Chelmsford Little League for over 12 years, one of which was as Vice President. He belonged to the American Legion Post 0462, Nauset Club, Lowell Sportsman Club, and ANA Patriot Squadron.
Joseph will be laid to rest during a private family ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pepperell.
