John "Benny" Benson

John L. Benson, 77, of Pepperell, MA passed away at his home on September 11, 2023 after a short illness. He was born in Leominster, MA and attended school there. He was employed at Hollingsworth & Vose Company in West Groton for 32 years. Everyone at H&V will remember him as “Benny”.

Benny enjoyed camping and spending time with friends and family. Telling stories of old times, music and cars. He was a hard meticulous worker and always willing to help when needed. He also enjoyed being a snowbird in Silver Springs, Florida during the winter months.

Besides his wife Barbara, he leaves his son Michael Benson, wife Patricia and grandson Ryan of Shirley, MA and his sister Sally Nappila of Shirley.  He also leaves his stepchildren Leo Wyatt and his wife Dominique (Petroskey) of Pepperell, MA, stepdaughter Teresa Delaney of Falmouth MA, stepdaughter Sandra Norris, Wyatt and husband Kenneth of Lunenberg, MA, stepson Thomas Wyatt and friend Karen Lorrette of Shirley, MA and stepdaughter Tobi Rose and friend Brian Lavalley of West Groton, MA.

Graveside services will be held privately at Groton Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pepperell VFW Post #3291, 55 Leighton St., Pepperell, MA on Sunday, October 29th from 4 - 7 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main Street, Pepperell, MA.
