Joan Mary (McCullough) Katsines

On Thursday June 9, 2022, Joan Mary (McCullough) Katsines was called home to God at the age of 68, leaving behind her adoring husband of 48 years, Peter, and her loving sons Peter and Brian. She joins her late daughter Kimberly who passed away in 1986 at 16 months old. Joannie was born on March 8, 1954 in Framingham, MA to the late Timothy and Kathleen (Landry) McCullough. She graduated from Framingham North High in 1972 and from Katharine Gibbs College in 1974.  She worked as an administrative assistant for the Town of Pepperell, MA where she lived with her husband and sons for many years.  She also worked for CenterPoint in Tewksbury, MA.

Growing up, Joannie loved her summers in Mattapoisett. She loved the beach, walking to Gulf Hill to get an ice cream and hanging out with her siblings and summer friends. She loved all babies and going skiing in Utah with her family.

Joannie leaves behind her five siblings: her brothers, Steven and Faye McCullough, James and Anne McCullough, Paul and Charlene McCullough; and her sisters Kathleen and David Gill and Anne Watson and her sister and brother-in-law Karen and Arthur Connolly. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews, her lifelong best friend Jane (Bonano) DiPerri, and countless other close companions whose friendships she always cherished.

Visiting hours will be held in the  McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main Street (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 3 – 6 p.m. Joannie’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshiping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell, MA on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton Centre, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
