Janet Sarah (Ferguson) Lewis, age 75, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 24th, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Lynn, MA on April 10, 1945 to Avis (Tinkham) Ferguson and Kenneth D. Ferguson. She graduated from Lynn English High School in 1963 and went on to various career trainings. Janet was predeceased by her younger sister Sandra C. (Ferguson) Conway and is survived by her older sister Margie A. (Ferguson) Messina.
Janet was predeceased by her husband of thirty-two years Kenneth E. Lewis, U.S. Army (Ret.). They raised their children in the town of Ayer where Janet worked for 35 years for the town. She served on numerous town functions; her favorites were the Fourth of July committee and Veterans Memorial Park.
In retirement, Janet enjoyed spending time with Kenneth P. Mildren of Athol. They loved to travel and enjoyed time at their lakeside camp in New Hampshire. She enjoyed family gatherings and cooking for her loved ones. Other hobbies and interests included, but were not limited to painting, crafting, playing bunko with the gals, and spending lots of quality time with her sister Margie, children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Janet leaves behind Kenneth P. Mildren of Athol. She is also survived by her Son and two Daughters; Kenneth F. Lewis and his wife Amanda Lewis of Ayer, Melissa A. (Lewis) Tom and her husband Dale Tom of Gardner, and Jennifer R. (Lewis) Gibbons and her fiancé Eric Prentiss of Templeton; as well as her sister, Margie A. (Ferguson) Messina of Lynn. Janet’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, Kevin E. Lewis, Sarah E. Gibbons, Maia A. Lewis, Rachel L. Lewis, Cody J. Tom, Wyatt J. Tom, and Kenneth J. Lewis. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews including Lisa, Gino, Carl, and Richie.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a walk-through visitation in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Tuesday, March 30 from 5 – 8 PM.
