James Ralph Ogilvie, Sr., 87, of Littleton, passed away on January 31, 2025. James was born on April 30, 1937 to Ralph L. and Evelyn W. Ogilvie of Littleton. James attended Littleton schools and Worcester Tech. James loved driving trucks. James started a trucking business hauling for Wicks Lumber, working alongside of him was his brother, George. He continued for many years driving and working as a truck driver for M. W. Leahy. James joined the Littleton Fire Department in 1965, later including a stint as Fire Chief from 1976 to 1982. James left the fire department in 1982 and went back to truck driving. He last drove for Boston Sand & Gravel.
James enjoyed gardening, antique trucks, and antique truck shows. He also enjoyed cutting wood alongside his father, Ralph, and brother, George.
James is survived by his brother George R. Ogilvie, and George’s wife, Lee; his son, Charles (Chuckie) Ogilvie; his daughter Karen and her husband, Paul Rogers; his 4 grandchildren: Christopher Ogilvie, Kaitlyn Ogilvie, Ryan Ogilvie, and John Rogers; his great-grandson, Silas Ogilvie; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by father Ralph L. Ogilvie, mother Evelyn W. Ogilvie, son James Ralph Ogilvie, Jr., and wife, Bev Ogilvie.
In accordance with James’ wishes, services will be held privately.
