Herman Uertz, 91, of Ayer, MA, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020. He was born on October 25, 1929, in the Bronx, New York to Peter and Elizabeth Uertz.
He graduated from The Machine and Metal Trades High School, NY in 1948 and lived his early adult years in New York.
In 1960, Hermie married Marian Hasey of Ayer in Lunenburg, MA. She passed away in 2005.
He worked at the Murray Printing Co. from 1962 until his retirement.
Hermie was a member of the Caleb Butler Lodge A.F. & A.M. Ayer, MA; A Life Member of the National Rifle Association of America and a lifetime member of the Ayer Gun and Sportsman's Club. He was also a member of the Harvard Sportsmen's Club, and the Lunenburg Sportsmen's Club; he was a collector of Curios and Relics He also volunteered with the Special Olympics.
He is survived by his daughter Valerie and her husband Randy Rock; his granddaughter Cherise Rock, her husband Fran Gendron, great grandson Tre and great granddaughter Kylie, of Leominster; grandson Nathan Rock and his wife Caitlin of Pepperell, MA; Vivian Howard and her husband Tom of Houston, TX; a niece Lita Dillon of Dover, DE and his godson James White of Leominster, MA.
Herman was preceded in death by his brothers Henry and John; his son Anthony Emery and Ray Rossi.
His family would like to extend their gratitude to Lauri Toohey, NP of the Home Run Program. With her support, compassion and humor, Hermie was able to live at home happy and independently.
