Hazel Gitschier Beskalo

Hazel (Gitschier) Beskalo of Pepperell, formerly of Westford, passed away on May 10, 2014. She was born in Dracut on February 16, 1920, daughter of the late William and Edna (Thomas) Gitschier and was the wife of the late Gregory G. Beskalo Jr.

Mrs. Beskalo spent her early life in Dracut where she was a graduate of Dracut High School Class of 1938. Relocating to Westford's Graniteville section. In her earlier years she was employed by the Abbot Worsted Mill working in the loom room, later she was employed at the Raytheon Company in Andover as a storeskeeper retiring in 1982.

She was a long time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Westford and Ladies Auxiliary of Westford VFW Post #6539. She also was active in the Pepperell Senior Center.

Mrs. Beskalo is survived by her 2 children, daughter Patricia-Beskalo-Walsh of Pepperell, her son Gregory G. Beskalo III and his wife Diane Dunn of Westford, 2 grandsons Mark Walsh and his wife Laura of Pepperell, and Scott Walsh and his wife Vicki of Nashua, NH, and 3 great grandchildren Brenna, Riley and Lily Walsh. Also survived by a brother Robert E. Gitschier and his wife Joanne of FL. And several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son in law Edward J. Walsh and 5 siblings.
