Gertrude Hammond, 90, longtime resident of Pepperell died peacefully on July 27, 2015 at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer.
Gertrude was born in Pepperell July 20, 1925 daughter of the late Louis and Nellie (Wood) Parker and the wife of the late Richard A. Hammond who died in 2003. She is survived by her children Donald L. Durant, Deborah J. Alger both of Pepperell, Richard A. Hammond of Hollis NH, and James R. Hammond of Townsend. Gertrude also is survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren .She was also the mother of the late David E. Parker, and is also predeceased by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Gertrude worked for many years at Conductor Lab in Groton Ma. she also was a volunteer with the Groton Council on Aging .
After retiring Gertrude loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed word searches, watching wheel of Fortune and Court TV. Gertrude's greatest joys came from time spent with family.
