George William Leddy (Papa) of Pepperell, MA aged 77, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday February 13th, 2025 after a prolonged illness surrounded by his wife Irene Leddy and beloved dog, Brutus. 

George Leddy was born on March 11th, 1948 in Cambridge MA where he grew up with his sisters Elizabeth Curran and Francis Holland.

In his early school years, George was known to love dogs, horses, and motorcycles, especially Harleys. In his early twenties, George entered into the United States Air Force and spent time in Danang, Vietnam from 1969-1971.

George welcomed his first son, Bill Leddy on March 14, 1972. Later, George reunited with his first love, Irene Fable of Cambridge and welcomed a second son, Robert Christian Leddy in 1986. Throughout the years, George was an avid supporter of the VFW and Knights of Columbus as well as several local Veterans organizations. Toward the end of his life, George spent his days with his family being doted on by his grandsons who remember their Papa as always happy to see them.

George is predeceased by his mother Gertrude Murphy, father George William Leddy, Sr. and his niece, Tricia Curran.

George is survived by his wife Irene Leddy of Pepperell MA; sister Elizabeth Curran of Hingham and sister Francis Holland of Toano, Virginia; his son William Joseph Leddy, Sr. and wife Michelle of California; William’s sons William Joseph Leddy, Jr. Trystan Connor Leddy, and Blake Leddy; his youngest son Robert Christian Leddy and his wife Renatta, and their two children Robert Leddy and Elias Leddy. George is also survived by his two stepdaughters, Tracy Holt and husband William of Chelmsford, MA, their son Charles Holt, and Tina Santackas of Somerville, MA. 

George’s family would like to thank the local community for their support over the years, especially during George’s treatments. 

Family and friends will gather for visiting at the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, February 27th from 4 – 7 pm. George’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshiping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell, MA on Friday, February 28th at 10 am. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation on behalf of George to the local Pepperell VFW Post #3291.
