In Loving Memory of Gary Gene Wilkins, Sr.
Gary Gene Wilkins, Sr., age 85, of Pepperell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 12, 2024. Born to Harriet and Irving Wilkins on February 7, 1939, in the same town he would call home all his life, Gary left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched.
Gary's legacy is one of unwavering love, dedication, and hard work. He is survived by his children: Chuck and Christine [Brooke, Shannon, Dale]; Gary Jr. and Kelly [Christine, Cameron, Paige, Mackenzie]; Greg and Darlene [Matthew, Nathan, Christopher, Katie]; Mark and Jenne [Mykal]; Sarah and Alex [Erich, Ethan, Ella, Eli, Eva]; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers Russell Wilkins of Pepperell and Larry (Elaine) Wilkins of Florida. Gary was preceded in death by his beloved son, Dale, his cherished wife of 55 years, Barbara, and sister Glenda Lewis.
Known for his generous spirit, infectious laughter, and a smile that could light up any room, Gary was a pillar of the community. A hardworking farmer, he was the soul behind Gary's Farmstand. His dedication to his family was matched only by his passion for his work, splitting his time between the fields, where he took joy in picking corn, and his farm stand, where he loved chatting with customers and friends alike.
Gary's life was a testament to the impact one person can have on a community. "THE" Gary of Gary's Farmstand will be remembered not just for his contributions to local agriculture but for the warmth and kindness he extended to everyone he met.
We invite you to join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Gary Wilkins. Calling hours are scheduled for Monday, March 18th from 3 – 7 PM at First Baptist Church of Groton, 365 Main St., Groton, MA. A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at 10 AM at First Baptist Church, with graveside service to follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Littleton. There will be a reception to follow at the First Baptist Church of Groton. This is a time to honor his memory, share stories of his life, and reflect on the joy he brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the High Pointe Hospice House via Tufts Medicine Care at Home, Philanthropy Office, 360 Merrimack St., Suite 425, Lawrence, MA 01843 (www.tuftsmedicine.org/giving).
Gary Wilkins' journey on earth has ended, but his spirit and the memories he created will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Please join us in saying farewell to a truly remarkable man whose life was as rich and fulfilling as the fields he tended.
