Frederic William Avey

Frederic William Avey (Freddy to some) passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 20, 2024.

Fred was born in Boston MA on April 1, 1961. He always thought it was cool that he was an April Fool's baby.

When Fred was 10 years old his family moved to Groton, MA. Fred was part of the Groton Minutemen reenactment group that went to Washington in 1976 to celebrate the bicentennial. He lived in Groton until he moved to Ayer, where he has resided since. Fred worked in the MA court system. He then went to work at Gervais Ford and was there for many years. Fred had many friends and loved playing Keno. He will be missed by many. 

Fred leaves his mother Barbara Avey of Ayer MA, sisters Irene (Michael) of Shirley MA, and Catherine (Brian) of McCleary Washington. He also leaves his nephew Chris (Heather) Condon, niece Jessica (Nick) Roy, and nephew Brian Jr. (Mikel). Fred was predeceased by his father, Leon J. Avey, on June 29, 2023.
