Emblem

Frank Whitney Dunn, lifelong resident of Pepperell, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Born December 23, 1935, he was the son of James F. Dunn and Edith (Scarci) Dunn of Pepperell.

Devoted husband to his wife of 46 years, the late Manuela (Gonzalez-Colon) Dunn. Also, pre-deceased by his only sibling, James E. Dunn.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth M. Dunn of Pepperell, Ma; his son, James F. Dunn and long time partner, Dawn Catalanotti of Brookline, NH; sister in-law, Maryjane Dunn of Pepperell and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Frank was a graduate of Pepperell High School, Class of 1953. He served four years in the US Air Force, working as a Jet Engine Mechanic in various locations, including Spain, where he met and married the love of his life, Manoli. He spent the rest of his working career at Pepperell Paper Mills where he retired as a shift manager in 1997.

Gardening was not a hobby, but a way of life. If you knew him, you would naturally be a benefactor of his bounty.

There was nothing he couldn’t fix and enjoyed working on machinery or tinkering with anything that needed repair.

Frank was a quiet gentleman, content in his steadfast routine of maintaining his physical fitness, working his land and caring for his family. He loved nothing more than putting in a good days work on the farm and ending the day, listening to classical music while enjoying a glass of red wine.

He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.

Family and friends may gather at the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Saturday April 12th at 10:30 am for procession to Pepperell Association Cemetery, Park St., Pepperell, where Frank’s graveside service will be held at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a Veterans Service Organization of one's choosing.
