Douglas Ericson

Douglas Ericson passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2025, following a brief heart illness.

Born on December 22, 1953, in Alexandria, Virginia, Doug was the son of the late Susan Kunce Ericson and the late John Ericson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellie Ericson; their daughter Amy Kaiser and her husband Will Kaiser of Ridgewood, New York; their daughter Tracy Ericson and her husband Josh McCusker of Chelmsford, Massachusetts; and their son Alan Ericson of Pepperell, Massachusetts. He leaves behind two cherished grandsons, Benjamin Kaiser and Ruston McCusker.

Doug is also survived by his siblings: George Ericson and his wife Denise of Shrewsbury; Cris Ericson of Chester, Vermont; and Lars Ericson and his wife Claudette of Davidson North Carolina. He will be lovingly remembered by his many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Doug grew up in Swampscott and Ipswich, Massachusetts. He graduated from Ipswich High School and Suffolk University.

Doug and Ellie married in 1987. They spent several years living in West Bolton, Vermont before settling in Pepperell, Massachusetts in 1994.

Doug worked as a graphic artist before becoming a devoted stay-at-home father. A gifted painter, Doug created a wide body of work and also enjoyed collecting and selling art. A lifelong treasure hunter and collector, he was especially passionate about his sports card collection.

A true homebody, he loved his home in Pepperell. Doug found joy in the simple pleasures of life: tending the yard, gardening, and cooking for his family. Doug followed current events and politics with deep interest and always had his finger on the pulse of the news. He treasured being present for his children’s many sports games and practices as they grew up.

Services for Doug will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug’s memory may be made to PACH (Pepperell Aid from Community to Home), a local food pantry.
