Diana Desir, a resident of Shirley, Massachusetts, passed away on February 10th, 2025, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, at the age of 94. She was born on August 20, 1930, and raised in Lamontagne Jacmel, Haiti. She was married to Jiordany Jean Jacques who passed away on February 7th, 1995. Diana was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished both her biological and adopted children and grandchildren.
Diana loved God, cooking, and, most importantly, her family. She embraced her role as a mother to everyone, whether they were her biological children or not. Her faith in God and her family provided her with daily motivation and energy. She went to live in the city Port-au-Prince where any one in the family will pass by either going or coming from Jacmel, and all were welcome. There wasn't a day when she didn't have a smile on her face. At parties, she was always eager to dance, especially to Haitian music. Diana made sure her children were well-fed, often offering food from her plate to ensure everyone received a meal. While she was strict with her children about chores and homework, her discipline was rooted in love. She taught us every day to be true to ourselves and to never be followers. Diana loved sewing; she preferred to stitch up any clothing issues rather than let anyone spend money on new clothes. Every time she spoke, sheshared a valuable life lesson. She was heavily involved in her church community. She would provide her services to church goers ensuring they had everything they needed. She loved doing her rosary in Haiti before she went out on business.
She was born from a family of seven: Lima, Foisina, Belizaire, Silene, Iranie , Diana, and Lorianie. Diana is survived by her daughter, Andree Lourdes Jean Jacques, her two grandchildren, Emilie Jean Jacques and Christelle Rene, and her younger sister Lorianie Desir. Diana is also survived by her Adopted children: Wilner Seme, Nadege Seme, Arthur Seme, Gregory Olivier, Serge Pierre Louis, Ernst Lauture.
