David (Dave) Lester of Pepperell, MA, formerly Claremont, NH, Lynn, MA, and Everett, MA. Born in Boston MA on February 6, 1961. Son of the late Thomas and Marjorie (Emerson) Lester . Dave spent the first few years of life living in South Boston before moving to Everett in 1967. Dave attended elementary and middle-school in the Everett public school system before moving to Lynn in 1975 where he attended Classical High-School. Dave joined the Army in 1978 where he served as a combat engineer until 1985. Dave is honorably discharged.
Dave went on to accomplish several academic endeavors. These included receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Dave graduated Suma cum laude from Northeastern University in 2003. Dave also received a Master of Science degree in MIS Management in 2006 and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management also from Northeastern in 2011.
Dave spent most of the last 25 years working in Telecommunications and Health Care Management as a technician and manager, and for the last 11 years as a project manager. Dave worked for GTE, Motorola, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH and his most recent assignment at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield Illinois where he held the position of Senior Project Manager responsible for several highly visible integration and software conversion projects.
Dave's hobbies included spending time with family and his dog Yuri, playing his guitar, travel and most of all riding his Harley and being part of a brotherhood of riders.
Dave is survived by his wife Laura (Beckford) Lester, his two sons Dave Jr. and Sean both of Merrimack, NH and his step-daughter Charleen Beckford of Barrington NH, his sister Martha Lester-Mittenzwei of Middleton WI, Laura (Lester) Holland of West Springfield MA and Christopher Lester also of Middleton WI. Dave also is survived by 5 grandchildren, Dylan, Bethany, Madison, Alexandria and Lillyana, also 6 nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 10 AM July 11, 2016 at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshipping at St. St. Joseph’s Church 28 Tarbell St. Visiting Hrs. Sunday 1-3 & 5-7 PM at the McGaffigan Funeral Home 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA.)
In lieu of flowers, Dave requests that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society, The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
