Claire Means (Reggio) Lovett

Claire Means (Reggio) Lovett died unexpectedly on Friday, June 28, 2024 in Tennessee, just 10 days before her 73rd birthday. She was born on July 8, 1951, the third child of Andre C. and Elizabeth D. Reggio in Ayer, MA. She grew up in Harvard and Groton, MA. She graduated from Groton High School in 1970.

She met the love of her life, Mark Lovett, on Block Island, RI, the summer of 1972. They were inseparable from then on, and married in 1974. They loved to travel and lived in AZ, LA, MA and settled in Sewanee, TN for the past 30+ years.

She always put others first and was a spiritual, loving, kind and giving person. She had boundless energy, took daily walks and went swimming regularly; and had a lot of friends in TN and MA. She always ended a conversation with “Love You More”.

She loved to travel, most recently to England with her friends Valerie and Philip, and to Massachusetts for her niece’s college graduation party. For the past 19 years she and her three sisters vacationed in Maine for “Sisters’ Week”, something their mother started in 2004 because she didn’t have any sisters.

For many years she worked for her brother, Mike, at the Reggio Register Co. in Ayer, MA; followed by many years for the state of TN for the Department of Children’s Services, until she retired in August 2022.

In addition to her parents Claire is predeceased by her husband, Mark (January 2018) and her sister-in-law, Sarah Reggio (December 2012). She is survived by her son, Curtis Lovett of Tennessee, her brother, Michael Reggio and his wife, Anne, of Ashby, MA; her sister, Betsy Diskin and her husband, Ken, of Ayer, MA, her sister, Mary Driscoll and her husband, Barry, of Jericho, VT, her brother Andre (Duke) Reggio and his wife, Kathy, of Yarmouth Port, MA; her brother, Charles Reggio of Haverhill, MA; her sister, Annie Hard and her husband, Hugh of Groton, MA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews,
