Beverly Ann Jeffers

Beverly Ann Jeffers, beloved mother, wife, sister and friend to many left this world on July 21, 2024.

Bev was born September 18, 1940 to Harry L. And Marjorie (Townsend) Dilts. She was raised in Lynn, Massachusetts. Beverly married Richard (Dick) Jeffers in 1961, and together they moved to Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA where they lived and raised their two daughters, Kristina and Jennifer. In 2005, they retired to a lake home in Rindge, NH.

Bev returned to Groton in 2022 after Dick’s death, where she lived independently and happily, near friends and family, until her passing.

Bev was a strongly independent and resilient woman, known for her sharp intelligence, curious mind, playful spirit and welcoming heart. She was a strong believer in continuing education - graduating Summa Cum Laude from Suffolk University with a masters in Finance and Business, while her daughters were still in college. Bev held a variety of jobs throughout her life; working for Air New England, librarian at Lawrence Academy, teaching at Suffolk University and Bunker Hill College, personal training/coaching at Curves Fitness and eventually finding a position with a small tech company - Eutecnics - as their CFO and Director of Human Resources, from which she retired in 2006.

Bev had many interests in life and a seemingly inexhaustible energy with which she could pursue them. She was never without a book, or puzzle (crosswords and Sudoku). Her baking skills and cake decorating were legendary among close family and friends (10 egg cake, breads, pies!!) She always had a garden growing - vegetable and flower.

Bev was an avid swimmer in her younger years, swimming in the ocean off the coast of Massachusetts. This passion translated later into teaching swimming to disabled youth, as well as joining a synchronized swim team. In her 60’s, her love of horseback riding was rekindled, leading her to eventually buying her own horse, Camelot. Trail riding with family and friends, as well as participating in various riding clinics, brought her much joy.

Bev always took great pleasure in visiting with her friends and family. She loved to plan big vacations where the families of both her daughters could join. Many fond memories of these trips - cooking together, touring sites, eating, playing games (marathon sessions of Oh -Hell), and just hanging out are shared by all.

Bev is held in loving remembrance by her daughters and sons in law, Kris and Bill Lawler of Bend, OR, Jen and Tom Delaney of Groton, MA, her granddaughters, Nina and Danielle, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mel and Tina Dilts, Norm and Joyce Dilts, many nephews, nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews, so many dear friends, and of course, her feisty feline, Coco.

In lieu of flowers, please share your favorite memories of Bev with her family.
