Anthony Guy Campano, LTC (R) (1941-2025) peacefully passed away at home, with his family by his side, after an extended illness. 

Tony was born in Medford, MA to the late Joseph and Mary Campano. He is predeceased by his older brother Joseph Campano. Tony grew up in Massachusetts and attended Malden Catholic High School, where he excelled in Baseball and Football. He was inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame in 1988. He was a proud graduate of Norwich University, which he attended on a football scholarship. There, he was a record setting halfback and was later inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame for Football and served on the Board of Fellows. After graduation, Tony was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Engineer Branch, then served on Active Duty in the US Army, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was called back onto active duty during Desert Storm in 1991. Tony was married to his beloved wife Mary Elizabeth Campano, for over 50 years, until her passing in 2014. Tony had a very successful career as a US Army Civilian, working in various Senior Engineering and Operations roles at US Army Fort Devens and US Army Natick Labs in Massachusetts, retiring as Director of Public Works at Natick Labs. Tony was an engineer and loved to build things. He developed and built several homes and neighborhoods in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. 

He is survived by his second wife, Francine Davis Campano. He is also survived by his loving children Beth McNulty (Campano) and husband Michael of Chebeague Island, ME, Anthony M. Campano and wife Susan of Brookline, NH, and Matthew J. Campano and wife Sarah of Hollis, NH and his sister Mary Ann Carbone, of Middleton, MA. He will be greatly missed by his eight granddaughters, Molly, Abigail, Paige, Madelyn, Sydney, Madison, Bailey, and Olivia.

Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, January 9th from 4 – 8 pm. Tony’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 777 W. Hollis St. Nashua, NH on Friday, January 10th at 10 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine
